Due to the shape of the baritone saxophone, normal swabs cannot be used. The Hodge Baritone Saxophone Swab is designed to swab out the circular part of the body after each playing session, keeping the top end of the saxophone clean and preventing a build-up of gunk.
The Hodge Swab is a foam-covered flexible snake. 61cm long, with a diameter equivalent to the bore of the circular section on the baritone saxophone, the swab has a silk covering which quickly absorbs the water that accumulates.
To use, push the swab into the top of the saxophone and around the loop, and then pull back out to remove the remaining moisture.
Please note: To prevent ripping the delicate silk on the octave mechanism, aim so the seam of the swab faces away from the inner protrusion caused by the octave mechanism.
