The Denis Wick Tuba Straight Mute is a favourite among professional Tuba players because of its wide dynamic range and excellent intonation. This Straight Tuba Mute is designed for 4/4 size Tubas, but can also work in larger instruments if the extra corks (which come free with each mute) are used. The Denis Wick Mutes are made from high-quality aluminium spun by hand, and can pproduce a really good fortissimo that makes it ideal for use in large orchestras and bands.
This version of the Denis Wick Tuba Mute comes with a neoprene bumper strip at the top of the mute, to prevent noise when the mute is put in the instrument, as well as 'resting' corks so that the mute doesn't roll when it's put on the floor. The base of the Denis Wick Mute is indented, giving extra stability to the sound, especially in the higher registers. The Denis Wick Straight Mute also comes equipped with a leather handle, making it easy to take the mute in and out of the instrument.
